Google Ads Account Managers Shouldn’t Contact Clients Straight

There are a growing variety of reports across the web of Google Advertisements accounts managers threatening to contact clients straight, despite not being allowed to.

According to the reports, firms who don’t react to emails from Google Advertisements account supervisors are being met hazards from Google reps to call clients straight.

In many cases, the Google Ads account supervisors call clients and inform them to drop their agencies.

There are two things to make clear here:

  1. Agencies are not required to consult with Google reps
  2. At no point must a Google Ads account supervisor call a company’s customer

A Google Ads representative informing clients to fire their company crosses the line.

However, these reports are ending up being more frequent.

Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn today:

support our marketers and firm partners.” Screenshot from: linkedin.com/posts/mattjanaway, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports circulated on Reddit of Google representatives engaging in similar practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an email received by a Google Advertisements Account

Strategist, which checks out: “I am composing to you one last time as a courtesy, because my sincere goal is to offer you

worth and innovative methods with google advertisements and deal with you carefully, to assist you conserve time and make your customers more successful with google ads, hence I am contacting you for the last time to notify you that if I do not reach you, I will assume that you are not getting my e-mails and will call the customers that I have actually been assigned straight.”Another Reddit user has nearly the very same story, saying they

‘ve been “harassed”with daily e-mails from a Google Advertisements rep to get on a call and carry out project modifications. Again, agencies aren’t obliged to speak to Google representatives or carry out changes clients aren’t requesting. Need to you get an e-mail like the one above, the best thing to do is send a grievance by means of

Google’s official form. Be careful of these aggressive sales tactics. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over

how you run your clients’campaigns. Included Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
